Cookie Policy

Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Ziglink ("we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on ziglink.app, zigl.ink, and viaqr.io.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or login status.

How We Use Cookies

TL;DR: We only use essential cookies required for the Service to function. We do NOT set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics provider (self-hosted Umami) is cookieless.

Essential Cookies (Required)

These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to work. You cannot opt out of these cookies.

Cookie NamePurposeDuration
better-auth.session_tokenKeeps you logged in to your account30 days (or until logout)
oauth_return_toTemporary cookie during OAuth login to return you to the correct pageDeleted after login completes
link_passwordRemembers password-protected link access (only if you access a password-protected link)Session (deleted when browser closes)

No Third-Party Cookies

We do NOT use third-party cookies from Google Analytics, Facebook, or any other ad-tech tracking services. End users who click your short links are NOT tracked or cookied by Ziglink.

Analytics & Error Monitoring (Cookieless)

We run our own self-hosted instances of Umami (product analytics) and Bug Sink (Sentry-protocol error monitoring) on infrastructure we control. Both are configured to operate without setting cookies or persistent identifiers, which is why they don't appear in the table above. See our Privacy Policy for details on what these tools collect and the legal basis for processing.

No Advertising Cookies

We do NOT use cookies for advertising, remarketing, or behavioral targeting. We do NOT sell or share cookie data with advertisers.

Cookies Set by Third Parties

Stripe (Payment Processing)

When you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe may set cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention. See Stripe's Cookie Policy for details.

GitHub (OAuth Authentication)

When you log in via GitHub OAuth, GitHub may set cookies. See GitHub's Cookie Policy for details.

Managing Cookies

Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through settings. However, blocking essential cookies will prevent you from using Ziglink (you won't be able to log in).

Opting Out

Since we only use essential cookies, there's nothing cookie-based to opt out of. Our analytics and error-monitoring tools (Umami, Bug Sink) are cookieless and aggregate-only — see the Privacy Policy for the legal basis and your rights under GDPR (access, erasure, objection).

Do Not Track

We respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser settings. However, since we don't track users across sites anyway, DNT has no additional effect on our Service.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
